On concrete

A worktop should still be there when the kitchen around it is replaced.

Concrete is permanent, honest, and quietly beautiful. It ages with character, not wear.

01

Material

Glass-fibre reinforced concrete with a high-density mineral mix, hand-finished to a honed, matte surface that develops a subtle patina over time.

02

Craft

Every worktop is hand-cast in Accra using a controlled mix, vibration, and cure process that preserves the natural texture and character of the concrete.

03

Lead time

3–4 weeks from order confirmation, depending on the size of the slab and the curing conditions.

The workshop

The workshop in Accra

A small team casting by hand

Every mould is built, packed, cured and sealed in one workshop in Accra. Nothing is outsourced and nothing is mass-poured — the batch you order is the batch someone stands over.

The process

From mould to matte finish

Every piece is hand-cast from glass-fibre concrete, cured for weeks, and sealed by hand. None of it is rushed.

  1. 01

    Mould

A negative is built to the piece's exact geometry — worktops to your own drawings.

  2. 02

    Pour

Glass-fibre concrete is packed and vibrated by hand to draw the air out of the mix.

  3. 03

    Cure

Three to four weeks under cover, reaching full strength and its final colour.

  4. 04

    Seal

Hand-sanded, then sealed to a matte finish you can set a hot pan on.

Made to measure

Worktops, cast to your kitchen

Kitchen worktops are templated to your run and poured as one 40 mm slab — not tiled, not seamed across a cabinet run. Budget three to four weeks from template to fitting, which the quote includes.

  1. 01

    Measure

Rough dimensions and a photo of the space — a straight run, an L, an island. Enough for a first price.

  2. 02

    Template

Once you commit, we template the exact run on site: every wall, corner and appliance gap, cut for your sink and hob.

  3. 03

    Cast & fit

Poured as one slab, cured for weeks, sealed by hand, then installed and levelled by our team.

Care

Living with concrete

Porous, cold, fragile — concrete raises the same few questions every time. Here is the honest version.

Heat
Sealed to take a hot pan straight off the hob - no trivet needed.
Water
Non-porous seal. Wipe spills; no staining from oil, wine or coffee.
Wear
It patinas instead of scratching - marks settle into the surface over years.
Repair
Chips fill and re-seal at home with an ordinary stone sealer -- no special kit, no callout needed.
